what were you thinking when....Ron and Hermione finally kissed
(plz don't ask another question just answer this)

personally i was thinking "YESSSSSSSS!" and then there was that other little voice that said "HA! Mom owes me 5 bucks" =)

my mom: "jerry why are you crying?"

me: "IM NOT CRYING! I HAVE HAPPY TEARS, RON AND HERMIONE FINALLY KISSED"

and yes that accutally happened

I was so not expecting it!!! I was calmly reading away, super concentrated in the story and then it happened and i was like, 'ok what just happened?' I had to re-read that paragraph and then i was like 'they made it happen that way? WTF!!!!!' And then i was super happy that they kissed! I guess i was expecting it to happen in a romantic or sappy kind of way but the more i thought about it, it made sense with the elf thing and all!

That is exactly what happened to me!!! At first I want something that was more drawn out, but there is no way that could have happened at the end of the book. It was like the end of the BBC version of Pride and Prejustice...there is all this build up and all you get is a freakin' kiss!!! AGH! But it is cute the third or fourth time reading it.

i loved this film, Pride and Prejustice !

i was thinking, "people are trying to kill you! :Dark mark smil you idiot! you should've kissed her in GoF or OotP!" and i didnt have time to even mentally high five Ron. when Harry kissed Ginny... much better! Ron still coming in second...

That is how I felt, too, Roxy. There was so much action going on and I just did NOT see something like that happening in the middle of a war. I'm glad that Hermione was the one who initiated the kiss...because otherwise it may never have happened!!!

at first i did not think i read it right so i re-read it and then i was super happy...... im kinda mad that ron was not the one to do it first though.... but oh well

ohhhhh I know!!!! I ABSOLUTLY loved Harry and Ginny's first kiss!!!!!! I was jumping of joy in my bed when I read it and I couldnt hold my excitment in so i ruinned it for my bf! I just had to read him that part!!!! It was perfect! I loved how he just kissed her in front of everyone without care! total jealousy!

I'm pretty sure I was thinking something along the lines of "OOOH! Ron is going to KILL Harry!" I'm pretty sure I was also further disgusted by that "monster" thing in Harry's stomach "roaring in triumph". Ech, that's one of J. K.'s worst analogies in the books.

Lol yeah its not a very good way of describing a boy's mind... but hen again, Jo is a woman.
And yeah, I was probably thinking "well duh, what the hell was she hinting at for the whole book!"

I personally think Jo could have handled H/G much better than she did in HBP

Well, speaking from partial experience, I couldn't really say, but the way Jo described it made it sound grotesque. A boy's feelings for a girl are not accurately represented by an ugly, fuzzy green monster that lurks in the stomach region. Love and longing are softer than that. I don't think describing it with a physical creature really does the concept justice.

But that's just how I see it. I was actually quite taken aback by the description, as I felt she had accurately captured the male point of view in Goblet and Order, and in those she didn't use any physical representation. I guess she just ran out of ways to convey those particular feelings of Harry's with simple vague descriptions, so she used the monster. Which was rather unfortunate...
